Terms of use
Last changed on 18 October 2026.
These terms are the agreement between Kumonari, who run Orbit, and the businesses and people who use it. "We" are Kumonari. By opening a space or joining Orbit, you accept them.
Who they bind
- A space is a business using Orbit. Whoever opens it accepts these terms for that business, and confirms they may.
- A member is anybody with an Orbit account who works in a space. A member accepts these terms for their own use of Orbit.
- A client who only books with a space, or writes to it, needs no account. These terms do not bind clients; the space's own terms do.
Orbit is made for businesses. If you use it as a consumer, the protection your law gives you stays yours whatever these terms say.
Your account
Keep the ways you sign in to yourself. You answer for what is done with your account, so tell us as soon as you think somebody else has used it.
What a space answers for
- Who it lets in, and what each of its members may do.
- What it writes down about its clients. The space is the controller of that data. It needs a reason the law accepts for keeping it, tells its clients in its own privacy statement, and answers their requests. We process the data for the space under the data processing agreement, which is part of these terms.
- What it says and sends to its clients through Orbit, including having their consent where the law asks for it, such as for marketing.
- Its own prices and terms with its clients, and the payments it takes.
Payments between a space and its clients
A space takes payments through its own Mollie account, under its own agreement with Mollie. The money goes from the client to the space. We are not a party to those payments, never hold the money, and do not answer for refunds or disputes between a space and its clients. An invoice Orbit writes for a space is that space's invoice.
Fair use
Do not use Orbit to:
- break the law or anybody's rights, which includes sending mail people did not ask for;
- reach data you were not given, or probe, overload or disrupt Orbit;
- upload malware, or anything it is illegal to keep or share;
- resell access to Orbit without our agreement.
We may suspend an account or a space that does, after a warning when the situation allows one.
What Orbit costs
Orbit costs nothing for now. Before anything costs money we say so well ahead, and nothing is charged unless the space agrees.
What you put into Orbit
What you and your space put into Orbit stays yours. You give us only the permission we need to keep it, show it to the people you share it with, and run Orbit. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.
Keeping Orbit running
We work to keep Orbit available and your data safe, but Orbit is offered as it is, without a promise that it never stops. Orbit changes as it is built, and features come and go. When we take away something a space relies on, we say so beforehand where we can. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Liability
We answer for damage we cause on purpose or through gross negligence, and for anything the law does not let anybody limit. Beyond that we do not answer for indirect damage, such as lost profit, lost bookings or lost data, and what we answer for in a year is limited to what the space paid us in that year.
Ending
You can stop whenever you like: a member deletes their account, and a space's owner closes the space. Closing a space deletes its records, so copy what you need first.
We can end these terms for a space by telling it a month ahead, or at once when it seriously breaks them.
When these terms change
A change that matters is announced in Orbit a month before it applies. You can stop before then; carrying on after it means you accept the change.
Law and courts
These terms are governed by the law of the country where Kumonari is established, and its courts settle disputes about them, except where the law gives you a choice that cannot be taken away.
Who runs Orbit
Orbit is run by Kumonari.
